Privacy
You can read every recipe without an account. An account is only needed to rate recipes and read comments.
Cookies and tracking
Browsing the site sets no cookies, and there are no analytics or advertising trackers. When you sign in,
one cookie (cw_user) keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It isn’t used for anything else.
Ingredient ticks are stored only in your own browser.
The site’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
What we keep when you sign in
- Your name as shown next to comments (first name and last initial; you can change it), and your email address, as given by Google or Microsoft.
- An id from Google or Microsoft that identifies your account to us. We never see or store your password, and we can’t post anything for you.
- Your ratings, comments, photos and suggested alterations, and when you last signed in.
Photos you add are resized and saved again before they’re stored, which removes the location, camera details and any other information hidden in the original file.
Comments and photos are checked by the site owner before they appear, and are only shown to signed-in users. The average star rating of each recipe is shown to everyone, without names.
Deleting your account
Sign in, open your account and choose “Delete my account”. Your name, email, sign-in details, ratings, comments, photos and suggestions are deleted straight away. You can also remove the site’s access in your Google or Microsoft account settings.
